Methodology

My private instruction is based on ideas I have developed myself, as well as concepts I've studied during my time taking private lessons and studying at Berklee College of Music.

Some of these concepts include:

• Fundamental Music Theory and Applications
• Soloing and Improvisation
• College-level music program preparation/tutoring (specifically Berklee College of Music)
• Rock/Metal playing/songwriting/improvisation
• Ear Training and Transcription
• Music Reading

Skill Levels

My instruction covers all levels of playing from beginner to advanced.  Regardless of skill level, all lessons will place heavy emphasis places on the following aspects of playing:

• Proper Technique
• Tone
• Musicality
• Timing/Rhythm
• Vibrato
• Theory
• Ear Training

7 Tone

I also teach a system for studying the modes of the Major, Melodic/Harmonic Minor, and Harmonic Major scales called 7 Tone.  You can read more about it here.

Above all else, my lessons emphasize making MUSIC.  While practicing requires patience and diligence, I always remind my students of the end goal; creating MUSIC.
