Diatonic 7 Tone
Diatonic 7 Tone is an intense program that has given me a complete vision of the fretboard, enhanced my music theory, and given me the chops to be able to tackle anything and everything that comes my way.
I'll let my 7 Tone teacher Chris Buono tell you a little bit about it:
"Engineered by the great bassist, Gerald Carboy, the 7-Tone program is a thorough (and then some) melodic and harmonic study in the diatonic modal system of heptatonic scales. You know, the church modes – the ones with all the names after Greek islands, e.g. Ionian, Dorian, etc. Seriously, if you’re looking to really get your s#@t together, this is the ticket. Just be ready to play – and play you will."
The 7 Tone Program comes at you in 6 sections, all of which are to be completed....completely.
The exercises and fingerings for these parts are very specific and are to be played EXACTLY as written for every exercise to work the way it's supposed to. In addition, there are EIGHT simple rules that you will need to follow to get through this program successfully. NO EXCEPTIONS!
The discipline and vision you gain from 7 Tone is a direct result of these 8 steps. This program emphasizes powering through your weak spots instead of pushing them aside. If you these 8 rules, you WILL get results. And yes, while there are other ways to do things than the ways in 7 Tone, when you're in my house, you play by my rules!
